Creating renderable Space brush-strokes
If you’re familiar with Autodesk’s Maya, you probably have seen the power of the brush-stroke systems. For our work, we often use the Space Brushes to create quick and beautiful galactic environment… however, there are limitations in rendering the strokes, especially with multi-render layered scenes.
Our solution was to create a script which effectively traverses the stroke, and converts the star-geometries into renderable spheres. You can tune the min and max size of the star-spheres. And with a little creativity and tweaking of the shader, the result is easily rendered star-field geometries.
